How do you like Helvetica, Julia?
It’s a very neutral and balanced font, which is great for design. I don’t think it’s possible to hate Helvetica, it feels like you can never go wrong using it – but in the end your design will have this ‘look-I-am-a-designer-I-use-Helvetica-look’. Just use it wisely.

What did you try to change on the original Helvetica with this hack?
Starting off with this already perfect font, I felt challenged. I wanted to use Helvetica’s perfect-balanced shapes and make them less of a boring font. To do that I cut Helvetica into pieces and started re-arranging them to create new letters, calling the end result Ligature pro – because ligatures occur when different letters are joined.
